California based SpaceX continued its increasingly fast launch turnaround time, completing another launch of the Starlink constellation in 24 hours on Saturday. The company successfully launched 53 satellites from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on Friday.
Although reusability is the key to SpaceX, Saturday's launch uses the new first stage booster of Falcon 9 rocket.
Conditions near the port of Canaveral were slightly breezy, but the launch was scheduled at 4:40 p.m. Saturday's launch was SpaceX's 20th this year, with 16 previous launches in Florida.
After interstage separation, booster b1073-1 landed on the unmanned ship "just read the instructions". This is also the first time that this special booster has completed launch and landing.
SpaceX's goal is to launch the 21st on Wednesday, May 18, which will put another batch of starlinks into orbit.
At the same time, NASA, ula and Boeing are preparing for the important launch of interstellar spacecraft for unmanned flight test to the international space station.
