When users first viewed lyrics videos on YouTube's main app, YouTube introduced a new way for them to play their lyrics videos in YouTube music Now, users will notice a tiny new YouTube music logo, which makes the idea of extending music lyrics video to the above applications more obvious and direct
The launch of this new feature began last Friday and is aimed at Android users.
The shortcut to the YouTube Music App began in 2019 in the form of a blue banner under the video window playing music lyrics. At that time, it was written "enjoy now" with instructions - "switch to YouTube music, included in your membership". This is not the most attractive button, especially it consumes too much space, which is a bit distracting. Now, it has become "want audio only?" The update button next to it says "open". It still exists, but the new YouTube music logo button will make this feature more prominent. Look at the logo and you will immediately know its purpose, rather than reading the text of the blue banner.
This new YouTube music button appears in the upper right corner of the video window, before the autoplay icon. Clicking it will open the same song played by the user in the main YouTube application in YouTube music. However, it should be noted that it does not start where the user leaves. On the contrary, its playing position will always be the beginning of any content, which is practical to some extent for listening to music.
In addition to using new icons and blue banners, there is another option to switch to YouTube Music: users can turn to the overflow menu of the main application. It can be found at the bottom of the menu and says "listen with YouTube music". Obviously, this requires more efforts from users, but this is not the main concern for them. Having all three options in an application makes functionality redundant. It's a good thing that users can access the command in a variety of ways, but some will question the need for all three options to coexist in one place.
