Intel has launched a new processor designed specifically for the data center to enter this lucrative market. But here, it will face more fierce competition from NVIDIA and AMD The new product line will include updated AI chips, new versions of Intel Xeon processors, and chips to help connect telecommunications networks. The company will also launch a graphics chip for the data center for the first time, challenging NVIDIA's base camp.
Intel CEO pat Gelsinger announced the products at a company event in Dallas on Tuesday. Although Intel's processors are still the most widely used processors in large data centers, other companies grow faster and steal market share. This market will become a key battlefield for Intel to regain its dominant position.
NVIDIA's data center business has tripled since 2019 to more than $10 billion a year. Driven by the sales of cloud computing server chips, AMD's overall revenue soared 71% in the first quarter.
