Deadline reported on the superhero drama strategy of CW chairman and CEO Mark pedowitz at a press conference before the early demonstration of CW this week. He confirmed this week that the network "will continue to engage in the superhero business" despite the cuts to legend of tomorrow, Batwoman and Naomi.
"For the CW DC Universe, we have Gotham Knight, so we will continue to engage in the superhero business," pedowitz said. "We will continue to support Greg berlanti, who creatively planned the CW DC Universe."
At the time of writing, CW is currently promoting four DC episodes. "Flash season 9" will return in 2022-23, "Superman and Louise" will launch Season 3, and "star chasing woman" will also launch Season 3. In May, the TV station will broadcast the pilot episode of "Gotham Knight", the prequel of non superhero drama "evil power" and the new drama "Walker" starring in "evil power". CW is not interested in launching more superhero dramas, but related to Warner Brothers and Viacom selling the network to nexstar. As a result of this acquisition, CW is limited to the transition state.
Pedowitz also briefly talked about the upcoming season 9 "flash man", he said: "we haven't made any decision on whether this could be the last season." Pedowitz added that in the near future, he will meet with executive producers Berti and Eric Wallace to discuss the future of the show.
