Since the launch of the Ruilong processor in 2017, amd has launched five generations of Ruilong processors such as Zen, Zen +, zen2, zen3 and zen3 +, all using AM4 slots. This year, it is the turn of a new platform - Ruilong 7000 and 600 series chipsets, upgrading Am5 slots, ddr5, PCIe 5.0 and USB4.
Amd has previously announced that it will deliver a speech at the Taipei Computer Exhibition on May 23, with the theme of "amd promotes high-performance computing experience". CEO Su Zifeng will introduce AMD's progress in high-performance computing.
If the previous announcement has not been 100% confirmed to be related to 5nm zen4, the news released by CEO Su Zifeng today can be sure that the Ruilong 7000 series is really coming
Su Zifeng's accompanying picture this time is a group photo of her and the Ruilong processor. This processor is the Ruilong 7000 series released at the beginning of this year. Because in order to change the Am5 socket, the appearance of the Ruilong 7000 is completely different from that of the current Ruilong, like an octopus, in order to discharge more power to meet the needs of the Ruilong 7000**
The features of zen4 architecture products can be summarized in "four fives": it is manufactured by TSMC 5nm process for the first time, the next generation ddr5 memory and PCIe 5.0 channel are supported on AMD platform for the first time, and a new Am5 packaging interface is introduced for the first time
At present, the specific specifications of zen4 processor have not been announced, but there have been good revelations before. The main changes in CPU are as follows:
- IPC increased by 15 ~ 24% compared with Zen 3;
- The frequency increased by 8 ~ 14% compared with Zen 3;
- Multithreading performance is 28 ~ 37% higher than Zen 3;
- The overall performance increase will not be lower than that of multithreading;
- 1MB L2 / 4MB L3, that is, compared with Zen 3, the L2 cache is doubled;
- Supports up to ddr5-5200 memory
Of course, there is also good news for players. The desktop version of the Ruilong 7000 will also integrate the core display and rdna2 architecture this time, but don't expect much about the performance. It is mainly for good opportunities. Those with strong core display performance will have to wait for the notebook version of the Ruilong 7000 APU.
