Microsoft is working on the project Moorcroft, which aims to bring early game demonstrations to Xbox game pass users. These demos will be similar to the limited trials and early game samples that fans usually spend hours waiting in line on E3 or Pax. These early game demos have basically lost their meaning in the transition from the pandemic to the online game exhibition, and they are key for independent developers trying to bring fame to their works.
Sarah bond, the head of Microsoft's game ecosystem, described the "morcroft project" as a way to restore this E3 like experience.
Bond said: "why don't we take out the game pass and make it look like the exhibition site? Why don't we make it possible for developers to release a part or a level of their games to the game pass, so as to bring excitement to the upcoming games and get real valuable feedback when they adjust and prepare their game release."
Game demos like this are a lot of work for developers, especially to prepare them for the usual annual E3 conference. Although this year's E3 conference did not come to the site in person or even to the virtual site, Microsoft is setting up this project to give financial rewards to developers who are willing to spend time making these demonstrations.
"We have set up this project and designed it structurally, so that the developers actually get the economic compensation of the game, which actually benefits them financially and also benefits from great feedback," bond explained.
The Moorcroft project is still being carried out within Microsoft, but the plan is to launch the planned Game Demonstration next year. The initial focus will be on independent developers, and any game developer will be compensated and able to see how their demo works.
Moorcroft project is Microsoft's 2022 xbox Another part of the new platform. The software giant will also bring a new Xbox TV application to Samsung's 2022 smart TV later this month, expand Xbox cloud games to Argentina and New Zealand, and enable most Xbox games to be played through Xbox cloud Games soon.
