Last year, Apple announced an adjustment to the app store audit guide, requiring all applications that support account creation to provide in app options for users to delete their accounts. However, this request was postponed twice for various reasons Now Apple has set a new deadline for developers to update their applications according to the new guidelines
From June 30, 2022, all applications in the app store that allow users to create new accounts in some way must also provide a way for them to delete the account as needed These changes are detailed in app store audit guide 5.1.1 (V), which explains what the app can and cannot do in terms of account login.
The official description says
(v) Account login:
If the app does not include important account based features, please allow users to use it without logging in. If the app supports account creation, the account deletion function must also be provided in the app. App shall not require users to provide personal information for normal use unless personal information is directly related to the core functions of app or required by law.
If your core app functions are not related to specific social networks (such as Facebook, wechat, microblog or twitter), you must provide access without login or other similar mechanisms. Accessing basic profile information, sharing to social networks or inviting friends to use apps are not considered core app functions.
The app must also include a mechanism for revoking social network credentials and disabling data access between the app and social networks from within the app. App cannot store social network credentials or tokens outside the device, and can only use such credentials or tokens to connect directly to the social network from the app itself during the use of the app.
