Last year, in order to prevent game graphics cards from being used for mining, NVIDIA limited the computing power level of newly listed RTX 30 series graphics cards (except RTX 3090 / 3090 Ti), which are generally marked with LHR (Lite hash rate). However, in the field of DIY where great gods appear and haunt, it is "one foot higher than the devil", not to mention mining, which is profitable for some people.
Recently, the developer of nicehash announced that after successfully unlocking 70% of the original computing power of LHR graphics card (realized in August last year), after nine months of efforts, almost all the LHR graphics cards of RTX 30 have been 100% cracked . It's almost because there are two exceptions, RTX 3050 and RTX 3080 12gb. Hackers revealed that the new algorithm needed by these two brothers has not been completed.
Three party team benchmark PL then confirmed that what nicehash said was true. The calculation force of RTX 3080 Ti before unlocking was 85 ~ 88mh / s, and now it can touch 117mh / s.
It is reported that the crack can be used in quickminer software produced by nicehash, and can only be used to adapt to Ethereum's dagger Hashimoto (etash) algorithm.
For domestic users, it is recommended not to take risks to engage in virtual currency related activities.
