According to reports, David Faber, host of CNBC's squawk on the street, said today that after completing the $44 billion acquisition of twitter, Tesla CEO Elon Musk is expected to temporarily serve as twitter CEO for several months.
Earlier today, twitter said in a document submitted to the securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that musk had obtained an additional financing commitment of about $7.1 billion to finance the acquisition of twitter.
Faber said that musk carefully selected investors, including Larry Ellison, co-founder of Oracle (with an investment of $1 billion), and honeycomb asset management (SpaceX investors, with an investment of $5 million).
Feiber also said that Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey may also support musk. Currently, musk is negotiating with Dorsey and other twitter investors to discuss the possibility of selling his twitter shares on or before the completion of the acquisition,
Parag Agrawal, the current CEO of twitter, took over the post of CEO from Dorsey last November and has only led the company for a few months. So far, there has been little discussion about whether Musk's takeover of twitter will lead to management shock.
But last month, a person familiar with the matter said musk had arranged a new CEO for twitter. Some analysts said that the former CEO Dorsey, who left shortly, is expected to return to Twitter and take power again in the future.
It is also reported that the current CEO Agrawal said at a meeting of the company last month that under Musk's leadership, the future of twitter will be uncertain. "Once the deal is completed, we don't know where twitter will go," Agrawal said at the time
So far, it seems that Agrawal is eager to continue to serve as CEO of twitter. After all, musk said when sending the initial privatization offer to Twitter: "I have no confidence in the management".
