Microsoft will launch its Xbox TV application later this month, allowing owners of Samsung smart TVs in 2022 to play Xbox games without game consoles. The Xbox TV app works in a very similar way to Netflix on TV, and will be launched from Samsung's game centers in 27 countries on June 30. You just need to log in to your Microsoft account in the application, just like you stream Xbox games through Xbox cloud games in the browser.
Microsoft and Samsung will support a large number of handles for Xbox applications, including a series of Xbox handles, Sony's dualsense, and more. You only need to connect a handle through Bluetooth to use it. Unfortunately, Microsoft has not improved its streaming resolution to 4K, so the game will be limited to 60fps 1080p streaming format.
Microsoft will cooperate with Samsung to begin the initial promotion of the Xbox application, but it is not clear when the application can be used on other TVs or even old Samsung models. "We first brought the Xbox application to Samsung smart TV. Our intention is to explore other TV partnerships as part of our vision for the next step," explained Ashley McKissick, vice president of Xbox game experience and platform company.

The Xbox TV application originally announced last year is an important milestone in Microsoft's Xbox cloud game and game pass ambitions.
