To provide a more favorable and fair environment for creators, meta announced a series of optimization adjustments on May 4. In terms of algorithm optimization, priority will be given to original content, and provide creators with more intuitive and comprehensive insight tools and more realization methods.
In its official blog post, meta said:
We believe that creators engaged in the careful production and promotion of original content should be rewarded in terms of communication, growth and monetization.
As part of these efforts, we recently launched a ranking change to give priority to the distribution of original content where we recommend reels, such as reels tags and feeds on instagram and feeds and watch on Facebook. As we continue this work, we are making some changes to our reward plan to provide creators with ways to reach new fans and explore new opportunities.
Meta also said that the remuneration of content creators will enable a new calculation method, but did not provide more details at present. Just the new calculation method "aims to reward creators of all audience sizes who are producing high-quality original content and resonating with people". In this regard, meta also mentioned that this may lead to a great difference in the amount of compensation someone receives. This means that it may lead to higher or lower compensation for others, depending on the originality of their upload.
On the other hand, meta said it was launching a new incentive for creators of the reels play bonus program - "challenges" on Facebook. The company says creators can earn up to $4000 a month in this new opportunity by participating in a series of "continuous and cumulative" tasks every month.
Meta explained
For example, when your five reels play 100 times each, you can earn $20. When the creator completes a challenge, the next challenge will be unlocked. For example, when the creators complete the above five reels challenges, they will see the next challenge. For example, when your 20 reels each play 500 times, earn $100, and so on. The creator's progress in the challenge will be reset to #1 at the beginning of each 30 day reward period.
