The Lexus RX helped define the luxury crossover cars that we now see almost everywhere. However, since cross-border vehicles may deteriorate faster than sour bread, automakers must maintain freshness to keep consumers interested. Entering the fifth generation 2023 Rx is full of new ideas - whether it is the basic platform, powertrain options or compartment technology.
Lexus released 2023 RX luxury SUVs on Tuesday. It is quite different from the fourth generation Rx. It discards the original high appearance design and helps to make the design closer to the ground. The 19 inch and 21 inch hubs fill the wheel well well, but the most striking part of the new design may be the streamlined "spindle" grille, which loses a lot of visual quality at the top. Its outline and tail give off the smell of some large hatchbacks.
The new body is supported by Toyota ga-k platform, which can also be found on the latest versions of Toyota RAV4, Highlander, Lexus es and NX, as well as dozens of other vehicles in the United States and abroad. During the transition to the new platform, the RX lost 198 pounds and gained some overall rigidity. Although the wheelbase is extended by 2.36 inches, the rear suspension is also shortened by 2.36 inches, which means that the size of the whole body is the same as that of the fourth generation. The longer wheelbase also means more rear legroom and lower cargo loading points.
The interior is more luxurious than before, and many soft materials are scattered throughout the car. The dashboard extends behind the screen, where ambient lighting creates a pleasant effect. The doors use the same e-latch technology as the new NX, where the electronics take over the latch and unlock - but there is still a mechanical backup. Steering wheel control has been adjusted and simplified, and the available 14 inch infotainment screen can be well integrated with its digital instrument cluster neighbors.
Lexus has also provided various new powertrain settings for the 2023 Rx, most of which are electrified. The basic RX 350 offers front wheel drive and all wheel drive, using a 2.4-liter turbocharged inline four cylinder engine that produces 275 horsepower and 317 LB ft of torque. The RX 350h provides a 2.5-liter I4 engine as part of the hybrid system, which can produce 246 HP and 233 LB ft of niujue. The new Rx 500h f sport performance hybrid puts the 2.4-liter engine back under the hood, but it is combined with a rear mounted electric madar to produce 367 HP and 406 LB ft of torque. In addition, it will provide a new plug-in hybrid car, but Lexus has not given any details about the variant.
However, Lexus did provide some estimated fuel economy figures for the above models. The goal of automobile manufacturers is to make the comprehensive economy of RX350 reach 24mpg, rx350h reach 33mpg, and 500h reach 26mpg.
Since Lexus is also a Toyota product, the 2023 Rx is also loaded with a large number of standard safety systems. Each Rx is equipped with the Lexus Safety System 3.0 suite of active and passive driving AIDS. This includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, motorcycle detection, adaptive cruise control with curve speed management, lane departure warning and lane keeping assistance. A new parking aid system will allow you to park head down instead of backing into position every time.
The 2023 Lexus RX should be available for sale at the end of 2022, and the pricing will be announced near that time.
