Over the past period of time, we have heard many rumors about the 2022 new desktop CPU lineup that Intel is developing, including the high-end desktop (hedt) and the mainstream 13th generation desktop core product line.
The former is based on sapphire rapids and will be named Xeon w-3400 and w-2400 series, while the latter is Raptor lake-s.
In terms of platform, hedt product line will match w790 platform code named Fishhawk falls, and support a series of hedt chips from mainstream to high-end.
On the other hand, the 13th generation Raptor lake-s desktop CPU will be compatible with the existing 600 series motherboard and the new 700 series chipset.

These chips will adopt pure golden Cove high-performance core (P core), instead of mixing energy-saving core (E core) with mainstream desktop SKUs.

Recently, it is rumored that Intel has postponed the release of sapphire rapids hedt product line to the fourth quarter of this year (probably October), and both CPUs will support the newly launched w790 platform.
The 13th generation Raptor lake-s desktop CPU will be designed based on "Intel 7" process node + hybrid core architecture, in which the P core will be upgraded to the new Raptor Cove architecture, and the number of e cores and cache will be improved.
