Recently, Shaanxi Forest Public Security announced that at about 12:00 on May 6, Bao police station, director of the third branch of the Department of forest public security, received a telephone alarm from the staff of Huayang management and Protection Station of Changqing branch of giant panda National Park: when they were on routine line monitoring and patrol in the reserve, they found a dead giant panda in the river near CHAIJIAWAN, Huayang Town, Yang County, and asked for treatment.
After receiving the alarm, the police rushed to the scene for investigation at the first time.
The dead giant panda's body was seriously rotted, some fur fell off, internal organs were completely rotted, there were signs of other animals eating on the back of the body, the left hind leg was completely rotten, the leg bones were exposed, and there were maggots and flies in many places on the body it is inferred that the time of death was more than 20 days ago .
After on-site investigation and inspection, it was found that there were no traces of activity, blood and hunting around.
The police retrieved all field monitoring infrared cameras within a five kilometer radius and played back the stored photos for nearly a month. No people were found, therefore, the possibility of human hunting was ruled out , and it was judged to be natural death.
As the body of the giant panda has been highly rotten, the police of the long-term protection office assisted the staff of the management and protection station to carry out simple treatment and protective shipment, and then sent it to Huayang management and Protection Station of Changqing branch of giant panda National Park for further treatment.
