Boeing (BA. US) announced on May 19 that it had reached an agreement with the parent company of British Airways International Aviation Group (IAG) to sell 50 737 Max aircraft, which will be delivered from next year. It is understood that 10 of the 737 and 7325 aircraft that have not been certified by the max include 737 and 7325 aircraft that have not been certified by the max. The order also includes the right to purchase 100 aircraft, which is expected to be delivered from 2025 to 2028.
The 737 Max 10 is the largest model in the Boeing 737 series, with a single cabin capacity of up to 230 passengers and a flight distance of 3300 miles. The fuel-efficient jet can cover 99% of the single channel routes, including those provided by the 757.
IAG noted that the 737 Max 200 is expected to enable the company to deploy aircraft with up to 200 seats, thereby increasing revenue and reducing fuel consumption.
Luis Gallego, IAG's chief executive, said: "the new Boeing 737 Max aircraft will be an important part of IAG's short haul fleet renewal. They are the latest generation of aircraft, more fuel-efficient than the aircraft to be replaced, and in line with our commitment to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050."
