Apple is the only one in the top three to increase the shipment of "true wireless stereo" products last year, including airpods and beats. A report from canalys, an analysis company, studies the market trends of the true wireless stereo headset category, including audio devices such as airpods and other wireless audio products.
In this report, Apple was rated as the undisputed market leader in 2021 and the first quarter of 2022. In the first quarter of 2022, the shipment volume was 21.7 million units, more than three times that of the second Samsung.
Apple's shipments of real wireless stereoscopic devices recorded a 14% increase, while the shipments of Samsung and Xiaomi, which ranked third, fell instead of increasing a year ago.
According to the report, the newly launched beats fit pro and the popular studio buses are the main driving forces for Apple's performance increase. The beats division saw a remarkable growth rate last year: up to 553%, but the airpods under the apple brand only increased by 3%.
In addition, it can not be ignored that new brands in the field of true wireless earphones such as Skullcandy and rambler successfully improved their performance in 2021. In particular, Skullcandy experienced a 53% growth, increasing their shipment from 2.1 million in the first quarter of 2021 to 3.3 million sets in the first quarter of 2022.
Between the first quarter of 2021 and the first quarter of 2022, apple and its subsidiary beats launched three new true wireless stereo products. Apple launched the third generation airpods in October. Beats studio bugs was first released in June, 2021, and beats fit Pro was released in November of the same year.
