This week, the UK government revealed a proposal for the world's first set of standard guidelines for app stores, which was released at the same time as a new government report on app security and a call for technology companies to express their views On Wednesday, the UK Department of digital media, culture and security (DCMs) proposed that users of digital media (DCMs) and digital media (DCMs) do not need to follow the rules of the UK market.
DCMs specifically mentioned Apple , Google, Amazon, Huawei , Microsoft And Samsung。 However, the proposed guidelines will apply to any online app store, including mobile devices, game consoles, televisions , voice assistant and other products.
One of the requirements of the proposal is that all app stores should include steps to report security vulnerabilities in managed software. Another requirement is to make it easier for users to access and manage their private information. The application also needs to explain why they need to access the user's location and contacts.
At the same time as DMCs made recommendations, the UK National Network Security Center issued a report to warn tampered and malicious applications, including details about damaged SDK, fake applications, malicious updates and so on.
DMCs also called on developers and app store operators to provide feedback on how to improve security. The government will accept the comments before June 29, and then determine the next steps before the final proposal is released later this year.
