During the Shenzhou 14 mission, the construction of Tiangong space station with the basic configuration of Tianhe core module, Wentian experimental module and Mengtian experimental module will be fully completed, and the national space laboratory will be built.
The Shenzhou 14 manned mission is the second mission in the construction phase of the space station and the first manned mission in this phase. The astronaut crew will work and live in orbit for six months. The main purposes of the mission are: to cooperate with the rendezvous, docking and transposition of the sky asking and dreamtime experimental modules and the core modules; Complete the installation, commissioning and operation of equipment inside and outside the cabin and facilities and equipment related to space application tasks, and carry out space scientific experiments and technical tests; Complete the on orbit assembly and construction of the Chinese space station.
According to the plan, after Shenzhou 14 spacecraft enters orbit, it will adopt the autonomous rapid rendezvous and docking mode to dock with the radial port of Tianhe core module, and form a combination with Tianhe core module, Tianzhou 3 and Tianzhou 4 cargo spacecraft. During their stay in space, the three astronauts will welcome the visit and docking of the two experimental modules of the space station and a cargo spacecraft, and carry out on orbit rotation with the Shenzhou 15 flight crew. They will return to the Dongfeng landing site in December.
