On the morning of June 4, a press conference on the Shenzhou 14 manned mission was held at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. According to linxiqiang, spokesman of China's manned space project and deputy director of China's manned space engineering office, Shenzhou 14 mission is the first manned mission in the construction phase of China's space station. During the mission, the construction of Tiangong space station with the basic configuration of Tianhe core module, Wentian experimental module and Mengtian experimental module will be fully completed, and the national space laboratory will be built.
Compared with the Shenzhou 13 mission, Shenzhou 14 mission will achieve multiple firsts, which puts forward high requirements for the crew's ability to perform tasks. The Shenzhou 14 flight crew will cooperate with the ground to complete the rendezvous, docking and transposition of the sky asking experimental module, the dreamsky experimental module and the core module; It is the first time to enter the sky inquiry experimental module and the dreamsky experimental module to establish a manned environment; Cooperate with the ground to carry out the test of the two compartment assembly, three compartment assembly, large and small mechanical arms, air lock cabin exit and other related functions; For the first time, the airlock located in the sky test module was used to carry out 2 to 3 times of extravehicular activities; Complete the unlocking and installation of more than ten scientific experiment cabinets in Wentian experimental cabin and Mengtian experimental cabin.
In addition, the Shenzhou 14 flight crew will also carry out on orbit health monitoring and inspection, protection exercise, on orbit training and drill, as well as a large number of space station platform patrol inspection and testing, equipment maintenance, maintenance verification, material management and station management.
During the in orbit period, the Shenzhou 14 flight crew will face challenges such as multiple configurations, new states, and dense missions. It will experience 9 types of combination configurations, including operating the small mechanical arm and combined arm, carrying out exit from the air lock of the sky module, carrying out 5 rendezvous and docking, 3 separation and evacuation, 2 transpositions, and 2 to 3 exits.
Linxiqiang introduced that in view of these characteristics, on the basis of completing the general training subjects, the Shenzhou 14 flight crew has carried out targeted intensive training mainly from the following three aspects: first, the crew has completed the setting of the entry status of the sky asking module and the dreamsky module, the work and life of the third module, as well as the training of health support, material management, station management, etc., and the crew has the skills of the third module in orbit; Second, the crew has completed the training of small mechanical arm operation, using the weather gate module to get out of the module and the rendezvous and docking of the remote operation experimental module, and the crew has the skills to complete the construction task of the space station; Thirdly, in view of the increase of the actual (Trial) inspection items in the third cabin, about 30 space actual (Trial) inspection items and platform related operation training have been completed, and the crew has the skills to carry out corresponding scientific actual (Trial) inspection.
After the completion of this launch mission, two experimental modules will be launched, i.e. the sky asking module and the dreamtime module, as well as the research facilities of the sky survey space telescope, which will co orbit with the space station, which will provide a larger platform for carrying out space science experiments (trials).
According to linxiqiang, nearly 100 experimental research projects have been arranged during the construction phase of the space station, and large-scale scientific research will be carried out after the subsequent transition to normal operation. These studies are expected to effectively promote the breakthrough of major frontier scientific issues such as dark matter and dark energy, galaxy formation and evolution, the law of substance essence, the nature of life phenomena and the response and change law of human beings in space, as well as the sustainable development of the earth, and provide profound scientific and technological accumulation for China to carry out manned space exploration near the earth and beyond in the future.
