After we close our eyes and go to sleep, we will come to a world called "dream", which is the place where the "king of dreams" (Tom Sturridge) constructs people's inner fear and fantasy. However, since the king of dreams was accidentally abducted and imprisoned for a century, his disappearance has triggered a series of storms, which will completely change dreams and the world. In order to restore order, the king of dreams must travel between the two worlds and across time and space to correct his long-standing mistakes. Along the way, he reexamined the relationship with his former enemies and friends, and met the universe gods and mortals he had never met.
The sleeping devil is adapted from the award-winning popular DC comic series written by Neil Gaiman. The 10 epic chapters dominated by characters are rich in plot, interwoven with mystery and dark fantasy, and deeply depict the adventures of the king of dreams. This play is jointly developed and supervised by Neil Gaiman, the program coordinator Allan Heinberg and David S. goyer.
