From SpaceX to Tesla to the still 'uncertain' Twitter ...... we always seem to see a lot of 'whimsy' in Elon Musk.

From the documents submitted to the city of Los Angeles not too long ago, it seems that Tesla is making another move, this time to open a restaurant. The documents reveal that the project will be located at SANTA MONICA BLVD (Santa Monica Boulevard) in Hollywood, LA, and will occupy about 9,300 square feet (about 864 square meters).

A restaurant called 'Shakey's Pizza' is currently operating on this area and is expected to be removed after Tesla's project is approved. According to Tesla's vision, this area will feature a Supercharger station, a restaurant, and a drop-off-free theater, which are functionally laid out in a circular pattern.

The two-level restaurant has seating for several hundred people both indoors and outdoors, and meals can also be delivered to a car located in the parking lot, with the possibility of a 24-hour operation if approval can be granted.
It's possible for a restaurant to be open 24 hours a day, but not necessarily for an outdoor theater. Tesla plans to have two movie screens in the outdoor area, which will be visible from the roof of the restaurant or from the car in the parking lot. The screens are planned to show shows that last about 30 minutes, about the amount of time it takes to recharge or eat at the restaurant.

Probably the more important part of this area than the restaurant and cinema are the charging stations. There will be 34 charging stations for electric cars, 29 of which will be superchargers and the remaining 5 will be equipped with level 2 chargers for low-speed charging.

In fact, it was kind of expected that Tesla would open a restaurant. Back in 2018, Musk had already tweeted that he envisioned a Supercharger station in Los Angeles, but at the time he envisioned an 'old-school' restaurant that was car-free, where you could roller skate and play rock 'n' roll.

When the Supercharger station opened in Santa Monica in February, Musk tweeted about opening a 'futuristic' restaurant and drop-off-free theater in Hollywood. The 'restaurant of the future' will also be able to pay with the cryptocurrency 'Dogecoin'.

While it's not clear from the documents filed so far what the design style of the restaurant to be opened in Hollywood will be, the documents do mention that there will be 'screens' made of rows of bamboo around the outdoor movie screens.

It is worth noting that in June 2021, Tesla filed several trademark registrations covering food service, quick service restaurants, self-service restaurants and take-out restaurant services. In terms of function and layout, the Hollywood area project seems like a 'service area' exclusively for Tesla.
For Tesla owners, this is an area where you can charge your electric car, take care of your dietary needs, and watch movies, so it's naturally attractive.

On the other hand, for Tesla, the rich services can not only meet the needs of owners, but also better improve the brand and product ecology, and perhaps attract more potential customers for themselves, this "Tesla Service Zone" can be said to be a multi-benefit.
