In the stamping workshops of Tesla's super factories in Shanghai, Berlin and Texas, several die-casting machines manufactured by EDRA group are installed for stamping the body parts of electric vehicles. According to previous foreign media reports, Tesla Berlin super factory and Texas super factory have installed several 6000 ton die-casting machines of EDRA group, while the die-casting machines used to punch the body parts of electric pickup truck cybertruck will have a higher clamping force. Foreign media have previously mentioned that it may be 8000 ton.

However, the latest reports from foreign media show that Tesla will punch the body parts of cybertruck, an electric pickup truck, which will be a 9000 ton die-casting machine of EDRA group.
According to the information on social media, foreign media reported that cybertruck body parts will be stamped by the 9000 ton die casting machine of EDRA group.
On Tuesday, local time, EDRA group shared a video of the assembly of a 9000 ton die-casting machine, which was then forwarded by a Tesla follower. Tesla CEO musk also responded, saying it was cybertruck.
Although musk simply replied with two words, his short reply means that the body of Tesla electric pickup cybertruck will be stamped with the 9000 ton die casting machine of EDRA group.
It is worth noting that EDRA group released the video clip of the 9000 ton die casting machine last week. At that time, foreign media reported that it might be used for the cybertruck of Tesla.
Cybertruck was launched by Tesla in November 2019. It is the first electric pickup truck launched by Tesla. It was originally planned to start mass production at the end of 2021, but it was later postponed. At present, it has not been mass produced. However, Tesla has said in its financial report for the first quarter of this year that it has made progress in the industrialization of cybertruck and plans to produce it at its Texas super factory in Austin.
Since cybertruck uses high-strength steel, the requirements for die-casting machine for stamping car body will be higher, and it is expected to use a 9000 ton die-casting machine.
Founded in 1946, EDRA group is one of the oldest companies in the global professional die-casting machine manufacturing industry. The information on its official website shows that it can manufacture large-scale die-casting machines ranging from 5500 tons to 8000 tons. In 2020, it received the world's first order for 6200 tons and 8000 tons of die-casting machines. Now the 9000 ton die-casting machine has been assembled, which means that the ability of EDRA group to manufacture large-scale die-casting machines has been further enhanced.
