If the Japanese startup SkyDrive can successfully achieve its goals, visitors to the 2025 Osaka WorldExpo will be able to cruise in their personal flying cars. SkyDrive recently announced to cooperate with Suzuki to develop an all electric evtol, namely, an electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle. SkyDrive said that the two seat aircraft, currently called sd-05, will carry a pilot and a passenger.

SkyDrive began to receive attention when it first launched its prototype evtol, namely sd-03, in August 2020. In a public demonstration, the aircraft flew about 6 feet above the ground and circled for about 4 minutes.
SkyDrive, headquartered in Tokyo, was founded in 2018. In 2020, the company received a total of 5.1 billion yen (about US $42million) in the second round of financing. The company is currently developing a compact, two seat electric flight vehicle and plans to carry out full production. Previously, Suzuki Motor and SkyDrive said in March that they had signed an agreement to cooperate in the research, development and marketing of electric VTOL aircraft.
In April, SkyDrive announced that it had reached an agreement with Japanese traffic regulators on the certification basis of flying cars.
