Skwell said they plan to announce the 35th anniversary of Final Fantasy soon. The publisher talked about its plans for the series on Friday's earnings conference call, and David Gibson, an analyst and investment adviser, talked about them on twitter.
According to reports, skwell plans to release several new games this year, and plans to focus on its most eye-catching series of games, that is, the final fantasy series.
The company also pointed out that they have high expectations for final fantasy 16, which will be shown again soon through a new trailer.
The original "Final Fantasy" was launched on FC machines in Japan on December 18, 1987, which means that the series will celebrate its 35th birthday at the end of this year.
Skwell recently launched the 35th anniversary website of final fantasy and hinted that the news of future new works would be released soon. "On this year's 35th anniversary, we will bring you many exciting new ways to enjoy the world of final fantasy," the website said
The second part of Final Fantasy 7: Remaking is also likely to be released soon. Producer Jiafan kitase confirmed in the live broadcast in January that he wanted to release the work on the 35th anniversary of the series.
Skywell announced on Friday that in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022, "Final Fantasy 14" performed well. Driven by the expansion of "the end of the dawn moon" launched in December last year, the sales of this MMO game helped offset the decline in the company's "HD game" department, in which "outliers" and "Marvel Galaxy escort" failed to meet expectations.
