An inexpensive baby toy from Fisher-Price, the Game & Learn Controller in the form of a handle can make various musical sounds when pressed. However, earlier in the day, Twitch gamer Rudeism took a whimsical twist on it and put it through its paces in a variety of games.
It doesn't matter if you can't close the lid, it just works.
Before taking on Fisher-Price baby toys, this New Zealand Twitch also played Dark Souls 3, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and the sand sculpting game Trick or Treat Goose with a modified controller.
The idea came from a joke by @Wario64
Having worked on a range of projects, Rudeism found the modified Fisher-Price toy handles to be quite refreshing and fun.

He managed to cram in a full set of Arduino Pro Micro hardware, a two-axis joystick (the original toy was just a button), a couple of microswitches, and also made the shoulder button a reality.

Even better, by soldering the Arduino cable through, Rudeism has managed to retain the original functionality of the toy handle and plant a "Konami Code" egg.

Unfortunately, there's no room for a battery inside the toy handle. However, Rudeism has managed to make the most of the original features, such as replacing the left and right analog sliders with "mode" selection buttons.

In addition Rudeism has access to the aforementioned action keys, the Start, Select and Guide buttons, and two shoulder buttons.

Interestingly, Rudeism says that the project was originally inspired by a joke from @Wario64, and ended up taking two weeks to "casually" tinker with it.

When @Wario64 teased on Twitter that the grip would be great for playing Elden Ring, Rudeism had the bright idea to test it out.

Although no video has been shared of the Old Man's Ring being played with a baby toy handle, Rudeism has plans to do so, so if you're interested, you can keep an eye out for it.
In the end, the total budget for this modification was around $20 (not including the baby toy handle body), and 3D printed components were used to support the joystick and buttons.
