On June 6, this afternoon, the "Samsung developer" official account released a notice on the latest application audit policy (32bit and 64bit related requirements). The notice requires that from July 18, 2022, all applications that apply to be launched / updated to the Samsung app store in Chinese Mainland must support the 64 bit architecture, if the application only supports the 32-bit architecture, the official will refuse the launch / update application at the manual review stage.
Before that: the newly launched applications must support the 64 bit architecture. If the launched applications do not support the 64 bit architecture, they can continue to be updated.
In addition, the official also suggests that developers adapt and upload 64 bit architecture application packages as soon as possible. a compatible package (32& 64bit package) or dual packages (32bit package +64bit package) can be uploaded at the "seller portal application package". Samsung will automatically distribute them according to the device type.
It is worth noting that today, the gold standard alliance also said that the arm architecture is gradually restricting the operation of 32-bit applications. In some listed platforms, 32-bit applications only support running smaller cores, resulting in obvious experience problems in the performance and power consumption of pure 32-bit applications.
In order to better improve the performance experience of Android applications and reduce the power consumption impact of Android applications, the mainstream app stores of gold standard alliance members will implement the relevant restrictions on 32-bit application packages, including the 32-bit application packages that are not allowed to be independently launched for new applications from April 1, and can support the uploading of compatible packages or dual packages. Since July 1, the 32-bit application packages are not allowed to be independently launched for new game applications.
