Finnish developer remedy games decided to cooperate with R star to remake the first two Marx Payne games, which is undoubtedly one of the most surprising news in 2022. Around this announcement, people may question the reason why developers decided to remake these games.

Tero virtala, CEO of remedy games, gave the answer in the Q & a session of a recent investor teleconference. In this session, virtala was asked why remedy wanted to remake their earliest games instead of focusing on developing new IP. He pointed out several reasons, one of which was: "this is Marx Payne. It's like going home for us."

Virtala explained that it's great to have different leadership teams work on different projects for the development of the company, and because the DNA of Max Payne is the root of the work the company has done so far, it's an effective way for experimental developers to use a changing set of tools in the game.

Virtala stressed that although he is happy to take over the project from a financial point of view, the project must be in line with the current situation and business of the company.
