Intel's open source Linux graphics driver engineers sent another hodgepodge of "i915" kernel graphics drivers for the upcoming Linux 5.19 merger window. Friday's pull request finally added DG2 / alchemist PCI IDs for "down" design. This indicates that Linux version 5.19 may be the basic version requirement for the normal operation of Intel arc graphics card.
The PCI id designed for the identified DG2 was part of these changes on Friday and appeared in Linux 5.19 along with other DG2 improvements. As covered by earlier DRM next versions, Linux 5.19 is also the first version to support DG2 computing.
Friday's version also brought the original set of Raptor Lake P IDs. As early as Linux 5.17, there was the earliest Raptor Lake s support, but for V5 19 took the lead in supporting Raptor Lake P. Rpl-p support is based on the existing alder Lake P code as the successor. Raptor Lake P's Linux kernel graphics driver support was formed in the past month, and it has also been added to mesa's OpenGL and Vulkan user space driver support.
This updated version of Intel DRM driver also includes refactoring of power well code, improvement of gvt-g, and various bug fixes.
The period of new function code of DRM next for Linux 5.19 is coming to an end, and those who want to see the latest batch of patches sent on Friday can see all the details of the pull request:
