The plant will be able to produce 1 million sets of e-axis motor systems in one year, making it the largest parts production center in Japan's power industry. The factory covers an area of 73000 square meters and employs about 2500 workers at full capacity.
In addition to e-axis, the flagship plant will also produce inverters, gears and other electric vehicle motor parts, the report said. Nippon power believes that the fiscal year ending March 2026 will be a "watershed" for the surge in demand for electric vehicles.
Therefore, the company plans to invest about 300 billion yen (US $2.3 billion) before fiscal 2025 to increase the total capacity of all e-axes to 7 million units, and expects to make a profit in this field in fiscal 2023.
As of April this year, Japanese power industry has sold more than 370000 sets of e-axes in China. It is expected that by the end of this fiscal year, its global sales will exceed 1 million units. (checked by / indrich)
