Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted on Sunday, once again expressing concern about the decline in fertility, saying that if Japan's fertility continues to decline, the country will eventually cease to exist. Musk wrote: "take the risk to make it obvious that unless there is any change to make the birth rate exceed the death rate, Japan will eventually cease to exist. It will be a huge loss to the world."
Musk was responding to a twitter account called "wholemarsblog", which quoted a report that mentioned that Japan's population had the largest decline in history in 2021, with a decrease of 644000 people, and the current total population is only slightly higher than 125.5 million.
Musk had previously repeatedly expressed concern about the decline in fertility, saying it was "one of the greatest risks of human civilization".
In January, musk talked about the population collapse and called on people to focus on having more children.
"We should be more worried about population collapse. If there is not enough population on earth, there will certainly not be enough population on Mars," he said
In an interview in April, musk said: "I'm really worried about the birth rate. It's been bothering me for many years because I can't see it getting better. It's getting worse year by year. My friends are going crazy by me."
"I spent a lot of time talking about the birth rate," Musk added. "This may be the greatest threat to the future of human civilization."
