Although musk mocked YouTube's swearing policy, the company did not prohibit swearing on its website. However, YouTube's guidelines encourage creators to avoid using language that they consider unsuitable for advertising purposes. The website says it has reduced the number of videos that allow creators to generate income through "frequent use of strong swearing or vulgar language", but this policy does not apply to music videos.
Over the past few years, YouTube has been hit by a series of cryptocurrency scams. In 2020, YouTube faces at least 18 lawsuits involving cryptocurrency fraud. Apple Co founder Steve Wozniak sued YouTube in 2020, accusing YouTube of failing to contain fraudulent advertisements containing his portrait, but the lawsuit was subsequently lost because the judge found that youtube and its parent company Google were not responsible for user posts.
