Activision Blizzard has confirmed that more than 3000 employees are developing the call of Duty series of games, which accounts for nearly one-third of the total number of employees of Activision Blizzard. Call of duty is the most important and profitable IP of Activision Blizzard. One blockbuster plus two free games with billions of dollars in revenue each year pushed the company's revenue to an all-time high from 2020 to 2021.
Activision is now increasing its investment in call of duty, with more than 3000 employees participating in the development of call of Duty series, accounting for 31% of the total number of employees (9800) and half of the total developers (6800). Previously, Activision said it was developing a series of the most ambitious plans in history, including call of duty 19: Modern War 2 and call of Duty: Theater 2.
"We are building the most ambitious plan in the history of call of duty. Now more than 3000 people are involved in the production of this series. We will also return to the setting of modern war and launch the most successful call of duty work in history," Activision said in its 2021 annual report
In addition, Activision also confirmed their total number of employees:
"As of December 31, 2021, Activision Blizzard has about 9800 full-time and part-time employees, 68% in North America, 25% in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and 7% in Asia Pacific. Of these employees, about 68% are directly involved in or assist in the development of our games and technologies, an increase of 7% compared with 2020."
