It is understood that Samsung Group has been reported to be interested in acquiring European manufacturers. The rumored acquisition targets include NXP, Infineon, etc. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19, Samsung's overseas contacts were not smooth, and the relevant matters were suspended for a time. This time, six months later, Li Zairong started his overseas trip and will personally lead a team to visit Europe. In addition to targeting investment or acquiring NXP, Infineon and arm will be the objects of contact and cooperation.

In addition, Samsung will pay a visit to ASML, a major Dutch photolithography manufacturer, during its trip to Europe. It is believed that Samsung's move is probably to rush to buy ASML's extreme ultraviolet (EUV) equipment and cooperate with the next generation EUV lithography machine, so as to compete with TSMC in wafer foundry.
