According to the research of trend force Jibang consulting, the global Smartphone Production in the first quarter of 2022 was 310 million, with a quarterly decrease of 12.8%, which was mainly affected by the continuous adjustment of various channel inventories by various brands and the cyclical off-season, resulting in a relatively weak production performance in the first quarter. The time sequence entered the second quarter. Affected by the counterattack of the epidemic, the global mobile phone production decreased to 309 million in the second quarter, but it increased slightly by 0.7% compared with the same period in 2021.
Trend force Jibang consulting further said that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to worsen the problem of global high inflation. High inflation means that personal disposable income will be tightened at the same time, which is bound to prolong the change cycle and reduce the purchase budget of single machine. To summarize the whole year of 2022, the correction in the first half of the year is mainly caused by the impact of the epidemic on the economy, while the correction in the second half highlights the inflation crisis. The forecast of the total annual production will be revised down to 1.333 billion, and it does not rule out that there is still room for further reduction.
In terms of regions, the sales market share of China's smartphone market still ranks first in the world, but affected by the epidemic, its market share has declined from 24.2% last year to 21.1% this year, and the corresponding total shipments are predicted to decline from about 325 million last year to 283 million, with an annual decline of about 12.9%. Although other regions are relatively weakened by the epidemic, they are facing the crisis of high inflation. Even the Indian market with a large demographic dividend is difficult to support significant growth. Judging from the estimated proportion of global shipments this year, the top three are China, India and the United States, with 21.1%, 13.1% and 11.0% respectively.
