HP has made some minor updates to its spectre and envy product lines. Several consumer devices at different prices have been updated with new processors. Intel platform is the 12th generation core chip, and AMD is ryzen 5000 series chip. Some devices have ushered in configurations including new GPUs, such as spectre X360 16.
The flagship product of this spectre series was previously driven by Intel's 11th generation processor and iris Xe integrated graphics card or NVIDIA's geforce RTX 3050. This year's upgrade has some major changes. The processor comes from Intel's new 12th generation product line, and the independent GPU is Intel's new arc a370m.
In terms of spectre X360, this is not necessarily very exciting. Because we don't expect the a370m to bring a huge performance difference from the RTX 3050. Intel estimates that the performance of the 3 series will be twice that of Intel's integrated Xe graphics, which is not particularly prominent in game performance.
However, the appearance of arc GPU on such a mainstream machine represents an interesting recognition of HP for Intel's new arc series.
In other aspects, spectre X360 16 can be equipped with Intel Core i7-12700h, 32GB memory and 2TB storage at most. There are two resolution options: 3072 x 1920 400 nit touch screen, optional anti reflective glass; 3840 x 2400 OLED anti reflective touch screen with brightness up to 400 nits. The device is expected to go on sale today, starting at $1649.99.
Another device is spectre X360 13.5, which is a successor to spectre X360 13 and spectre X360 14 models many years ago. This product does not have a separate GPU, but it is also equipped with 12 generations of core processors and recognizes the disease through Intel's Evo platform. Several members of the envy series have also been improved in performance, including the flip models envy X360 13 and envy X360 15 (including AMD and Intel), as well as envy 16 (also arc GPU and RTX 3060) and envy 17 in standard notebook form.
All of the above products are equipped with 5 megapixel cameras and support various artificial intelligence functions, such as HP's glamcam, which tries to make you look better in real time during video calls. They are also equipped with new software, including HP palette, "a proprietary digital workspace that helps simplify the creative process", and HP quickdrop, which makes it easier to transfer files between devices.
In terms of screen aspect ratio, envy X360 15 and envy 17 are 16:9, while envy X360 13 and envy 16 are 16:10. Spectre X360 16 is also 16:10, and spectre X360 13 is 3:2 (just like its spectacular 14 inch predecessor). All Intel models have two thunderbolt 4 ports, 15 inch, 16 inch and 17 inch models have HDMI 2.1, spectra and envy X360 13 have microSD card readers, while other envys have full-size SD card slots.
Spectre X360 13.5 starts at $1249.99. Envy X360 13, envy X360 15, envy 16 and envy 17 start at $899, $849, $1399.99 and $1099.99, respectively. All models are expected to be available sometime today.
