In addition to the user interface adjustment, google play also introduced a new area called "compatibility for your active devices" in the recent major adjustment to indicate whether the application is compatible with your device
According to 9to5google, device compatibility is currently only available to some users and devices. Users invited to participate in the test can access it by going to the bottom of the "about this app" section of the app list.
The description says, "this area shows you whether this application is applicable to your device. You will only see devices associated with your Google account that have been active for the past 30 days.".
More segmentation options are available in this area, including mobile phones, wear OS watches, Android tv/google TV. Each subdivision option provides information about the device, such as its name, compatibility, version, download size, and required operating system. 9to5google thinks that after having this area, the "app info" page of the application page is a little redundant.
However, viewing these smaller sections will help play store users get more relevant information about specific devices. For example, if they are worried about the compatibility of wearable devices, they can simply access the corresponding parts. Unfortunately, although the name of the device is displayed, there is no special label for these sub parts to indicate whether they are used for mobile phones, wearable devices or android/google TV.
In addition to the new compatibility part, the play store is being redesigned on a large scale. There are many changes. Here are some of the most significant changes we have noticed:
● search becomes a simple little button, located in the upper right corner of the screen before the help and your account avatar. The top bar is accessible on all pages / tabs.
● the application tab view has filter options for mobile phones, tablets, TVs, chromebooks, watches and cars. The game tab is missing watch and car filtering options.
● larger application preview.
● the game application list will show you a large part of playing the game preview video. It initially occupies almost the entire screen until you scroll down. This preview section contains the title of the game, below which is the comment, download and rating details of the application. At the bottom of this area, you can also get information about the install and add to wish list buttons and whether the application is available for your device.
● clicking the movie in the "movie" tab will also give you a large part. However, instead of playing the preview video, the movie poster occupies a large area (although there is a video preview button). In this visual section, there are also movie titles, reviews, tomatometers, ratings, and buttons to buy or rent movies.
● the list shows screenshots of large applications, while the side is used to download other recommended applications and movies.
● the list of social media applications and other types of applications only displays icons and screenshots, as well as their other details, such as comments, downloads and ratings.
● the developer page will immediately show you all the applications it provides.
● the bottom bar of mobile Google play has been improved.
● moving to a new tab will slide the bar indicator.
● you can now access play pass, play points, gift cards, redemption, refund policies, parent guides and family sharing links at the bottom of the page.
● the books tab, which links to your wish list and library, gives you access to old designs that are still available.
