On May 18, according to foreign media reports, Volvo truck, a subsidiary of Volvo, will open its first battery assembly plant in Ghent, Belgium, to provide batteries for Volvo Trucks' pure electric heavy-duty trucks** It is reported that the factory will assemble the batteries and modules of Samsung SDI into battery packs that can be installed at any time for Volvo's all electric heavy truck. The capacity of each battery pack is 90 kwh. Consumers can choose to install up to 6 battery packs on a truck.
It is reported that the new battery assembly plant is expected to start mass production in the third quarter of this year.
"By integrating the battery assembly process into the production process, we can shorten the delivery time, ensure the safety of high-performance batteries and increase recycling," Roger ALM said
It is worth noting that Volvo has previously released its global sustainable development strategic goal: to achieve full electrification by 2025, when the proportion of pure electric vehicles will reach 50%, and the rest are hybrid vehicles.
