Ford's transit custom van sold in Europe is between the big boy transit and the smaller, now outdated Transit Connect. It is the best-selling van in continental Europe On Monday local time, Ford released a new electric vehicle called E-transit custom, which is the first of four electric trucks to be released by the blue oval by 2024.
The appearance of the E-transit custom is basically similar to that of the gasoline version, but it has a fashionable redesigned front - a longer front. There is a cool pattern on the big grid, which actually acts as some cooling. In addition, E-transit adopts a unique LED lamp, which has a light bar running through the front of the vehicle. Other changes include new LED tail lights, different rear bumpers and more prominent protrusions on the hood. It is reported that its charging port is on the front bumper and under the headlights.
Ford didn't say anything about the E-transit custom's motor or battery pack, but it has a range of 236 miles. Its motor may be located on the rear axle like the larger E-transit and may be able to output 266 horsepower. E-transit custom will have DC fast charging capability, and Ford said its traction performance will be the same as that of ordinary transit custom. In addition, it also has the same Pro power onboard technology as F-150 lightning and hybrid cars, which allows E-transit to power tools and even other vehicles.
Production of E-transit custom will begin next year at Ford's plant in kojaeli, Turkey, where most of Ford's other trucks are produced. One of the other three electric trucks to be launched by Ford will be tourneo custom, the passenger version of transit custom, and the other two may be between Volkswagen's New Transit Connect and the smaller transit courier.
