In the developer live broadcast held on Thursday local time, EA motive showed the image quality improvement of dead space: remaking, including improved character model, deeper environmental design and visual effects. Although the live broadcast did not show any final assets, EA motive promised that they would soon show the official version of dead space: Remaking to players for the first time.
At the beginning of the live broadcast, motive showed two similar scenes of the original and remake games to show the improvements made by EA motive in lighting and visual details.
It is obvious from the picture that EA motive studio uses modern technology to affect the overall atmosphere of the game. The original scene is very bright and the interior is lifeless. In the remake, the windows are much darker and the cold color industrial light is scattered among them.
Motive also stressed that their new lighting system can refract light differently according to the surface illuminated by light. Rough metal and painted metal disperse light in different ways.
In the "magnifying visual effects" link, the dynamic team showed how the visual effects were affected by environmental conditions. For example, inside the ship, sparks will fall on the player like raindrops, but when zero gravity is turned on, such as the scene outside the ship, sparks will pour out.
Motive also showed how the team reinterpreted the character model of the original game.
Motive points out that although the team only shows one skin color of the enemy, because the ship players are exploring is composed of people from the whole galaxy, the final game will appear creatures of all skin colors.
In the previous live broadcast, EA motive studio also discussed the dynamic meat stripping system of the game.
Dead space: remake will go on sale in January 2023 on PC, ps5, Xbox Series X|S。
