The latest leaked information shows that DJI is developing a new FPV (first person perspective immersion) UAV to allow users to fly indoors Reliable informants @ dealsdrone and @ ositalv provided leaked pictures and details of a smaller, more compact drone, which may be released between July and August.
It is said that this UAV will be called "Avatar" after it goes on the market and weighs 500 grams, which means that if users choose to fly outdoors, they must register with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) (UAVs weighing more than 250 grams must register with FAA).
The rendering from @ dealsdrone shows that "Avatar" may be equipped with ducted propeller to help prevent damage caused by something (inevitably) when the equipment flies indoors. Its feature is that @ dealsdrones hopes its camera is as good as the recently released DJI Mini 3 Pro, and the battery life is "greatly improved".
It is said that "Avatar" will be equipped with FPV head display (which is a necessity of FPV UAV). When you drive the UAV, it can let you know the whereabouts of the UAV from the first person perspective. Although Dajiang released its first ever FPV UAV last year, it is not the most suitable for indoor flight.
