Amazon founder Jeff Bezos said on twitter on Sunday that inflation hurts the poorest people in the United States the most, and criticized US President Biden's comments on inflation for the second time in a week. "In fact, the government is trying to inject more stimulus into the overheated and inflationary economy, and only Manchin saved them from himself," Bezos wrote on twitter "Inflation is a kind of accumulated tax rebate, which hurts the poorest people the most. This misleading is not helpful to the country."
Bezos's comments were in response to Biden's claim that the United States is expected to achieve the largest annual deficit reduction ever ($1.5 trillion).
On Friday, Bezos named US President Biden in a tweet, which said that taxing wealthy companies would help reduce inflation. Bezos urged the disinformation committee to review the tweet.
"Raising corporate taxes is debatable," Bezos wrote on Friday. "Curbing inflation is the key to the current discussion. But mixing them together is misleading."
Biden did not specifically name Amazon, although he had previously commented on the e-commerce giant's tax records.
Biden and Bezos' comments came as US inflation was close to a 40 year high and Fed officials wanted to raise interest rates to deal with the problem.
