It is reported that Twitter said on Friday that the regulatory waiting period has expired. This cleared an obstacle for Elon Musk's US $44billion acquisition of the company Twitter said in a statement that the waiting period for the Hart Scott rodino anti trust Improvement Act ended at 11:59 p.m. local time on Thursday, which is also one of the conditions for the completion of the transaction. The completion of the transaction still requires the approval of twitter shareholders and other regulatory authorities.

According to the Hart Scott rodino antitrust Improvement Act, musk and twitter must notify the antitrust Department of the Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of justice to review the transaction. The transaction shall not be completed unless the waiting period specified in the law ends or the government approves the early termination of the waiting period.
