Now there are rumors on the Internet that Sony and Microsoft will launch new hosts, and these intelligence comes from different information sources. In a recent exhibition in Poland, TCL technology revealed that Playstation 5 pro and "new" Xbox series X / s will be available in 2023 / 2024.
PPE. PL website participated in the exhibition and took photos of slides (provided by insider Tom Henderson). In the photos, pS5 pro and new Xbox Series X / s, known as "half generation hosts", will be able to render at 60-120fps at 2160p resolution and output at 60-120fps at uhd-8k resolution.
AMD's radeon rx7700 XT is also mentioned in the photo. This GPU has an rDNA 3 graphics core (the current Xbox series X / s and ps5 models use a custom rDNA 2 Architecture) and 8GB gddr6ram. It is also reported to have better ray tracing performance than its own RX 6900 XT.
As for why TCL technology shared this information, we should consider that TCL ranks second in the global TV panel and LCD TV market share. Therefore, the company may promote the display screen tailored for the new host. Of course, neither Sony nor Microsoft has confirmed these news, and has not even disclosed the existence of pS5 pro and new Xbox series X / s.
