Sega has high expectations for sonic: the border because the company hopes the game will be recognized by critics. In the recent Q & a session with investors, Sega CEO akiji rikenji and CFO Koichi Shenze were asked about the quality indicators and potential comment scores of sonic: border.
"We have set internal targets because there is a high correlation between the scores of external evaluation agencies and sales in Europe and North America," Sega explained.
"If the game gets a high score, it can become a must buy game and may have a synergistic effect with sales, so we are currently trying to improve the quality of the game and make it available for holiday sales."
Earlier this year, Sega revealed that "sonic: the border" was originally scheduled to be launched in 2021. However, in order to improve the quality of the game, the release was postponed. In addition, the first "sonic hedgehog" film was a success, so Sega hopes to use its positive response to ensure that "sonic: border" is also a success in word-of-mouth and commerce.
The sequel of the film "Sonic Hedgehog 2" is the highest grossing game adaptation film in the United States.
"Sonic: Frontier" is expected to land on Nintendo switch, PC, PS4, ps5, [Xbox] this year( https://microsoft.pvxt.net/e4yLO ) One and Xbox series x|s.
