Following the release of the desktop version of the Godson 3a5000 series processors in 2021, Godson yesterday released the Godson 3c5000 processor for the server market. Unlike the previous 16 core glue of the Godson 3c5000l, the Godson 3c5000 is a native 16 core architecture and supports up to 16 CPUs.
According to the official data of godson, the UnixBench score of the 16 core single chip of the Godson 3c5000 is more than 9500, and the double precision computing capacity reaches 560gflops. The peak performance of the 16 core processor is equivalent to that of the typical arm 64 core processor, and supports the maximum 16 channel interconnection. With the new generation of Godson 7a2000 bridge chips, the PCIe throughput bandwidth is more than 400% higher than that of the previous generation.
Although the architecture performance of the Godson 3a/3c5000 series is 40% or even 50% higher than that of the previous generation 4000 series, the overall level is still low. Therefore, the future focus of Godson will continue to optimize the architecture. The next generation of Godson 3a6000 processor is already under development and is expected to be released in 2023.
The 3a6000 will not continue to improve the process, but will still use the existing 12NM process, but will significantly improve the architecture design, the architecture will be upgraded from the current gs464v to la664, so the single core performance will be greatly improved, reaching the mainstream design in the market - it was rumored that it reached the level of the 11th generation core (at the same frequency)**
Godson gave the simulation test results, the fixed-point / floating-point base score (GCC) of Godson 3a6000 processor single core spec CPU 2006 was increased from 26/28 to 35/45, an increase of 37% and 68% respectively**
In terms of memory, the stream bandwidth (peak 51.2gbps) of the dual channel DDR4 of the Godson 3a6000 will also be increased from 25gbps to 38gbps, an increase of 52%**
After trying the new architecture on the 12NM process, the Godson 3a/3c7000 series will undergo a major upgrade in the future. The process will be upgraded to 7Nm, but the frequency will not increase much. It is still at 2.5GHz, and the maximum number of cores will be increased to 32 cores.
Godson aims to achieve the goal of "three pillars" with arm and x86 by 2035.
