"I want to buy chicken and kick duck". Nissan GT-R, which once haunted countless men, is about to usher in the end of life. On May 6, Ashwani Gupta, Nissan's chief operating officer, said in his interaction with top gear that Nissan is planning to develop an all electric GT-R sports car, but the launch date is hard to say .
He said that although it is too early to say this, the pure electric GT-R is sure to come one day.
However, he also said that the current electric vehicle technology is not ready for such high-performance applications, and other sports cars other than GT-R, such as Nissan Z, will also undergo electrification transformation.
He further added, "at present, when we simulate all the electrification of these cars, we can't find the appropriate technology to define what is' Z 'and what is' GT-R'. Finally, neither of them is a car, these are our culture."
For ease of understanding, Ashwani Gupta described Z and GT-R as beauty and beast respectively, he said bluntly: these two high-performance vehicles play different roles in their product lineup. Although GT-R and Z will adopt pure electric power system in the future, their positioning will not change.
The current Nissan GT-R is R35. Due to the restrictions of emission regulations, the car has been delisted from the European market, and the Japanese market has stopped accepting new orders.
According to the previously exposed information, the new generation of GT-R will be built on a new platform and is expected to be equipped with V6 hybrid system .
In other words, it may be a little difficult to see the pure electric GT-R in a short time, but it will come eventually.
