On May 4, Beijing time, people familiar with the matter said that Elon Musk had told potential investors that he might re list twitter in a few years Earlier, he had announced that Twitter would be privatized for $44 billion. Musk said he plans to make Twitter's initial public offering (IPO) as soon as three years after its acquisition.
Twitter said the deal was expected to be completed later this year, subject to the approval of twitter shareholders and regulators.
Musk is currently in financing negotiations with private equity companies such as Apollo global management and Ares asset management to reduce his promised personal contribution of $21 billion. When privatizing companies, private equity companies often focus on solving corporate problems outside the public eye, and then re listing them within five years. Musk's signal to take similar action may help convince potential investors that he will act quickly to improve twitter business operations and profitability.
Twitter and musk declined to comment.
