Last month, Microsoft edge climbed the 10% mark for the first time since its launch seven years ago. Edge is now the second most popular browser, and in may2022, it successfully continued to increase its market share slightly. According to StatCounter, the market share of Microsoft edge in the global desktop browser is 10.11%, up 0.04%.
Google browser was, is and will be the most popular browser for a long time. Its current market share is 66.1%.
Apple's Safari browser ranked third with 9.16%, 0.46% lower than that in April 2022. Mozilla Firefox ranked fourth with 7.66% and opera ranked among the top five desktop browsers with 2.81%.
Opera and edge are the only two browser brands that won new users in may2022.
Interestingly, about 1.68% of users are still using the almost extinct Internet Explorer. Microsoft hopes to change this situation by providing a special ie mode to transfer each ie user to the edge browser.
