At present, Xbox cloud gaming can be used on multiple platforms and devices, including IOS, Android, windows, Xbox and so on. In the past few years, there have been rumors that Microsoft is developing a dedicated "stick" device that allows any relatively modern TV to use this cloud game service Last year, Microsoft officially announced this device, but it has not been launched yet
Facts have proved that Microsoft has not given up Xbox Keystone. The company continues to focus on providing users with inexpensive devices for streaming games from the cloud. In a statement to windows central, a Microsoft spokesman confirmed that Xbox keystone was making some changes, which made the project not go online as scheduled.
Microsoft said:
Our vision for Xbox cloud gaming is unswerving. Our goal is to enable people to play the games they want on the devices they want and anywhere they want. As announced last year, we have been developing a game streaming device code named keystone, which can be connected to any TV or monitor without a game console.
As part of any technology journey, we constantly evaluate our efforts, review our learning outcomes, and ensure that we bring value to our customers. We have decided to abandon the current keystone device iteration. We will learn from our experience and refocus our efforts on a new approach that will enable us to provide Xbox cloud gaming to more players around the world in the future.
Windows central speculates that keystone may enter the store with a reduced version of windows or Xbox operating system. This approach allows Microsoft to bundle devices with its services, such as movies and television.
