It is reported that the merger and acquisition problems related to arm have been going on for many years. NVIDIA announced in september2020 that it would acquire the UK based company, but this attempt ended in failure after antitrust reviews in several countries. Subsequently, SK Hynix, Intel and Qualcomm also issued similar announcements.
Now, Samsung Electronics may also join the competition, so that arm's technology is included in its exynos processor. Samsung Electronics aims to become the leading manufacturer in the global non memory chip market by 2030, and the acquisition of arm can be an effective way.
The report points out that according to insiders, Samsung Electronics will have to compete with SK Hynix, Intel and Qualcomm. But there are other possibilities, including two or more companies forming a consortium that is not subject to anti-monopoly regulations. (check / promise)
